# Week Calendar vs HiCal

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: HiCal at none against Week Calendar's 16. HiCal also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Week Calendar's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 23) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price and review sentiment there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Week Calendar sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. HiCal asks for nothing beyond the download.

HiCal holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Week Calendar has 10K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Week Calendar's written reviews are positive against 55% of HiCal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Week Calendar ships an update fortnightly, HiCal every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
