# Mind Mapping vs Lucidchart

Mind Mapping and Lucidchart both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 76% of Mind Mapping's written reviews are positive against 21% of Lucidchart's. Mind Mapping also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). Lucidchart's advantage is ratings volume (5.3K vs 1.3K) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mind Mapping sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per month and Lucidchart sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lucidchart holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.3K and 5.3K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Mind Mapping's written reviews are positive against 21% of Lucidchart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mind Mapping ships an update every 4 weeks, Lucidchart every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
