# Explorer vs OLAS

The clearest difference is rating: Explorer at 3.9 against OLAS's 2.7. Explorer also leads on ratings volume (108 vs 3). OLAS's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Explorer holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Explorer has 108 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Explorer ships an update every 2 months, OLAS every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
