# IB3 vs 3CatInfo

The clearest difference is rating: 3CatInfo at 3.8 against IB3's 1.0. 3CatInfo also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). IB3's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

3CatInfo holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 3CatInfo has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of IB3's written reviews are positive against 30% of 3CatInfo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IB3 ships an update every 2 months, 3CatInfo fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
