# Ruler ++ vs Ruler

The clearest difference is rating: Ruler ++ at 3.5 against Ruler's 2.6. Ruler ++ also leads on ratings volume (934 vs 40) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). Ruler's advantage is review sentiment (54% vs 15%) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ruler ++ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Ruler asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ruler ++ holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruler ++ has 934 ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Ruler ++'s written reviews are positive against 54% of Ruler's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
