# Ruler ++ vs Ruler

Ruler ++ and Ruler both sit at 3.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 63% of Ruler's written reviews are positive against 15% of Ruler ++'s. Ruler ++'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (934 vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ruler ++ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Ruler sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ruler holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruler ++ has 934 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 15% of Ruler ++'s written reviews are positive against 63% of Ruler's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
