# Pocket Light Meter vs Lightme

The clearest difference is price: Lightme at Free against Pocket Light Meter's $9.99. Lightme also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and device support (4 vs 2). Pocket Light Meter's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 103) and review sentiment (87% vs 75%). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Lightme is free to download; Pocket Light Meter costs $9.99 up front. Pocket Light Meter sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Lightme sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lightme holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Light Meter has 1K ratings behind it against 103, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Pocket Light Meter's written reviews are positive against 75% of Lightme's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pocket Light Meter ships an update fortnightly, Lightme every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
