# Backgammon by George vs Backgammon with Friends Online

The clearest difference is rating: Backgammon with Friends Online at 5.0 against Backgammon by George's 3.1. Backgammon with Friends Online also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and update cadence (every 6 months vs every 41 months). Backgammon by George's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 25%) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Backgammon with Friends Online holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon by George has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Backgammon by George's written reviews are positive against 25% of Backgammon with Friends Online's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
