# Stuff.co.nz vs NZ News Today

The clearest difference is rating: NZ News Today at 5.0 against Stuff.co.nz's 3.7. Stuff.co.nz's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 115 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NZ News Today sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Stuff.co.nz asks for nothing beyond the download.

NZ News Today holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stuff.co.nz has 131 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Stuff.co.nz's written reviews are positive against 0% of NZ News Today's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stuff.co.nz ships an update weekly, NZ News Today every 115 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
