# Stopwatch´ vs Chess

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chess at none against Stopwatch´'s 1. Chess also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Stopwatch´'s advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stopwatch´ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Chess asks for nothing beyond the download.

Stopwatch´ ships an update monthly, Chess every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
