# Chegg Study vs WhiteBoard by LiveBoard

The clearest difference is rating: Chegg Study at 4.7 against WhiteBoard by LiveBoard's 4.2. Chegg Study also leads on ratings volume (205K vs 346) and chart position (#60 vs unranked). WhiteBoard by LiveBoard's advantage is review sentiment (48% vs 20%) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chegg Study sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $15.99 per month and WhiteBoard by LiveBoard sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chegg Study holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chegg Study has 205K ratings behind it against 346, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Chegg Study's written reviews are positive against 48% of WhiteBoard by LiveBoard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chegg Study ships an update every 3 weeks, WhiteBoard by LiveBoard every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
