# Chegg Study vs Numerade Educator

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Numerade Educator at none against Chegg Study's 5. Numerade Educator also leads on review sentiment (40% vs 20%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Chegg Study's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (205K vs 67). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chegg Study sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $15.99 per month. Numerade Educator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Chegg Study holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chegg Study has 205K ratings behind it against 67, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Chegg Study's written reviews are positive against 40% of Numerade Educator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chegg Study ships an update every 3 weeks, Numerade Educator monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
