# iLlumination vs OffBlock

The clearest difference is price: OffBlock at Free against iLlumination's $3.99. OffBlock also leads on rating (4.7 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (102 vs 1). iLlumination's advantage is review sentiment (90% vs 48%) and in-app purchases (none vs 4). On update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

OffBlock is free to download; iLlumination costs $3.99 up front. OffBlock sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. iLlumination asks for nothing beyond the download.

OffBlock holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OffBlock has 102 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of iLlumination's written reviews are positive against 48% of OffBlock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
