# Majic 102.3 vs 98.9 Magic FM

The clearest difference is monetization model: 98.9 Magic FM at ad-supported against Majic 102.3's free with in-app purchases. Majic 102.3's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Majic 102.3 holds the better App Store score, 3.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Majic 102.3 has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Majic 102.3's written reviews are positive against 40% of 98.9 Magic FM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Majic 102.3 ships an update every 4 months, 98.9 Magic FM every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
