# MARTA vs Buddypass

The clearest difference is ratings volume: MARTA at 8.3K against Buddypass's 4. MARTA also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). Buddypass's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for MARTA against 4.3 for Buddypass. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MARTA has 8.3K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MARTA ships an update every 5 weeks, Buddypass every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
