# Express vs J.Crew

The clearest difference is rating: Express at 4.5 against J.Crew's 3.1. Express also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 48%) and ratings volume (23K vs 905). J.Crew's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Express holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Express has 23K ratings behind it against 905, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of Express's written reviews are positive against 48% of J.Crew's.

Express ships an update every 9 days, J.Crew every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
