# Express vs Steve Madden

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Express at 71% against Steve Madden's 38%. Express also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). Steve Madden's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.5) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Steve Madden holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 23K and 39K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Express's written reviews are positive against 38% of Steve Madden's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Express ships an update every 9 days, Steve Madden monthly. Both last shipped on October 3, 2026.
