# WSDOT vs Skagit Transit

The clearest difference is rating: Skagit Transit at 4.5 against WSDOT's 2.9. WSDOT's advantage is review sentiment (24% vs 0%) and ratings volume (280 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Skagit Transit holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WSDOT has 280 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of WSDOT's written reviews are positive against 0% of Skagit Transit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WSDOT ships an update monthly, Skagit Transit every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
