# Read My Brain vs The Conch Shell

The clearest difference is rating: Read My Brain at 5.0 against The Conch Shell's 4.3. Read My Brain also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). The Conch Shell's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 31 months) and ratings volume (121 vs 2). On price and review sentiment there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Conch Shell sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Read My Brain asks for nothing beyond the download.

Read My Brain holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Conch Shell has 121 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Read My Brain's written reviews are positive against 61% of The Conch Shell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Read My Brain ships an update every 31 months, The Conch Shell every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
