# CamScanner vs PDF Converter

The clearest difference is update cadence: CamScanner at weekly against PDF Converter's every 2 months. CamScanner also leads on ratings volume (2M vs 551) and chart position (#7 vs unranked). PDF Converter's advantage is review sentiment (77% vs 60%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CamScanner sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and PDF Converter sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for CamScanner against 4.7 for PDF Converter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CamScanner has 2M ratings behind it against 551, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of CamScanner's written reviews are positive against 77% of PDF Converter's.

CamScanner ships an update weekly, PDF Converter every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
