# CamScanner vs Excise PDF

The clearest difference is ads: Excise PDF at none against CamScanner's shown. CamScanner's advantage is chart position (#9 vs unranked) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CamScanner sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Excise PDF sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CamScanner ships an update weekly, Excise PDF every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
