# Snake vs Chalkboard Pinball

The clearest difference is rating: Chalkboard Pinball at 3.9 against Snake's 3.0. Snake's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chalkboard Pinball sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Snake asks for nothing beyond the download.

Chalkboard Pinball holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Snake has 932 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Snake's written reviews are positive against 47% of Chalkboard Pinball's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Snake ships an update every 3 weeks, Chalkboard Pinball every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
