# Richmond Times vs The Progress

Richmond Times and The Progress both sit at 4.1 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of The Progress's written reviews are positive against 26% of Richmond Times's. Richmond Times's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 7) and chart position (#199 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Richmond Times sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month and The Progress sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Richmond Times against 4.1 for The Progress. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Richmond Times has 1.7K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 26% of Richmond Times's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Progress's.

Richmond Times ships an update every 2 months, The Progress monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
