# Word Abacus vs Roulette Deluxe

The clearest difference is ads: Roulette Deluxe at none against Word Abacus's shown. Roulette Deluxe also leads on rating (4.0 vs 3.6) and ratings volume (62 vs 20). Word Abacus's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (39% vs 29%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Abacus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Roulette Deluxe sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Roulette Deluxe holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 62 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Word Abacus's written reviews are positive against 29% of Roulette Deluxe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Word Abacus ships an update monthly, Roulette Deluxe every 5 months. Both last shipped on October 23, 2026.
