# Auslan Tutor vs simPODD

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Auslan Tutor at none against simPODD's 4. Auslan Tutor also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and device support (3 vs 1). simPODD's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 64%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. simPODD sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per month. Auslan Tutor asks for nothing beyond the download.

Auslan Tutor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: simPODD has 23 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Auslan Tutor's written reviews are positive against 78% of simPODD's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Auslan Tutor ships an update every 5 months, simPODD every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
