# O Globo vs Metrópoles

The clearest difference is rating: Metrópoles at 5.0 against O Globo's 3.2. Metrópoles also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 15) and ads (none vs shown). O Globo's advantage is ratings volume (89 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. O Globo sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Metrópoles asks for nothing beyond the download.

Metrópoles holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: O Globo has 89 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of O Globo's written reviews are positive against 3% of Metrópoles's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

O Globo ships an update every 2 weeks, Metrópoles every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
