# Auction Sniper vs Sotheby's

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Auction Sniper at 78% against Sotheby's's 24%. Auction Sniper also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.4) and ads (none vs shown). Sotheby's's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Auction Sniper holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Auction Sniper has 1.7K ratings behind it against 95, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Auction Sniper's written reviews are positive against 24% of Sotheby's's.

Auction Sniper ships an update every 2 months, Sotheby's every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
