# Spirits vs Goetz

The clearest difference is rating: Goetz at 5.0 against Spirits's 3.5. Goetz also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). Spirits's advantage is review sentiment (89% vs 60%) and ratings volume (64 vs 2). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Spirits costs $2.99 and Goetz $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Goetz holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spirits has 64 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Spirits's written reviews are positive against 60% of Goetz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Spirits ships an update every 3 months, Goetz fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
