# Yandex Metro vs NGTMap

The clearest difference is rating: NGTMap at 5.0 against Yandex Metro's 4.6. NGTMap also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 15.0). Yandex Metro's advantage is ratings volume (837 vs 1) and review sentiment (53% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NGTMap holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yandex Metro has 837 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Yandex Metro's written reviews are positive against 38% of NGTMap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
