# Directed SmartStart vs Momento Dash Cam Viewer

The clearest difference is rating: Momento Dash Cam Viewer at 4.5 against Directed SmartStart's 2.7. Momento Dash Cam Viewer also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (688 vs 123). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Momento Dash Cam Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Momento Dash Cam Viewer has 688 ratings behind it against 123, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of Directed SmartStart's written reviews are positive against 20% of Momento Dash Cam Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
