# Three vs Vita Student

The clearest difference is rating: Three at 4.4 against Vita Student's 1.0. Three also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Vita Student's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Three holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Three has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Three's written reviews are positive against 20% of Vita Student's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Three ships an update every 2 weeks, Vita Student every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
