# GradeBook Pro vs Grade Grid

The clearest difference is rating: Grade Grid at 4.3 against GradeBook Pro's 2.9. Grade Grid also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and iOS requirement (13.6 vs 15.6). GradeBook Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 13 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GradeBook Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Grade Grid sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grade Grid holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 52 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of GradeBook Pro's written reviews are positive against 60% of Grade Grid's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GradeBook Pro ships an update monthly, Grade Grid every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
