# Omaha Steaks vs PetMeds

The clearest difference is monetization model: Omaha Steaks at free against PetMeds's free with in-app purchases. Omaha Steaks also leads on review sentiment (53% vs 30%). PetMeds's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (14K vs 3.1K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PetMeds holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3.1K and 14K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Omaha Steaks's written reviews are positive against 30% of PetMeds's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Omaha Steaks ships an update every 6 weeks, PetMeds fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
