# Modizer vs RetroPlayer

The clearest difference is update cadence: Modizer at monthly against RetroPlayer's every 5 months. Modizer also leads on iOS requirement (15.5 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Modizer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and RetroPlayer sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Modizer ships an update monthly, RetroPlayer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
