# AARP Now vs Living Forward

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Living Forward at 100% against AARP Now's 28%. Living Forward also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and ads (none vs shown). AARP Now's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (184K vs 13). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AARP Now sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per year. Living Forward asks for nothing beyond the download.

AARP Now holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AARP Now has 184K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of AARP Now's written reviews are positive against 100% of Living Forward's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AARP Now ships an update every 5 weeks, Living Forward every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
