# LA Phil vs FYCit

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FYCit at 70% against LA Phil's 36%. FYCit also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (48 vs 9). LA Phil's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LA Phil holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FYCit has 48 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 36% of LA Phil's written reviews are positive against 70% of FYCit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LA Phil ships an update every 5 weeks, FYCit monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
