# Feedly vs SmartApfel

The clearest difference is rating: Feedly at 4.6 against SmartApfel's 4.0. Feedly also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 7) and chart position (#115 vs unranked). SmartApfel's advantage is review sentiment (65% vs 41%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Feedly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and SmartApfel sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Feedly holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Feedly has 26K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Feedly's written reviews are positive against 65% of SmartApfel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Feedly ships an update every 5 weeks, SmartApfel fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
