# Il Messaggero vs RomaToday

The clearest difference is rating: RomaToday at 5.0 against Il Messaggero's 3.0. RomaToday also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). Il Messaggero's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (29% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Il Messaggero sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and RomaToday sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RomaToday holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Il Messaggero's written reviews are positive against 0% of RomaToday's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Il Messaggero ships an update every 6 months, RomaToday every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
