# iKitab vs Types Books

The clearest difference is update cadence: iKitab at fortnightly against Types Books's every 3 months. Types Books's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iKitab sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Types Books sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iKitab ships an update fortnightly, Types Books every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
