# Chamonix vs Megève

The clearest difference is ads: Megève at none against Chamonix's shown. Megève also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Chamonix's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (64% vs 46%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Chamonix against 4.8 for Megève. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chamonix has 523 ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of Chamonix's written reviews are positive against 46% of Megève's.

Chamonix ships an update every 5 weeks, Megève every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
