# truTV vs Ice Cube Official Fan App

The clearest difference is rating: truTV at 4.5 against Ice Cube Official Fan App's 3.8. truTV also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 9) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 5 months). Ice Cube Official Fan App's advantage is review sentiment (57% vs 15%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

truTV holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: truTV has 14K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of truTV's written reviews are positive against 57% of Ice Cube Official Fan App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

truTV ships an update every 3 months, Ice Cube Official Fan App every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
