# truTV vs X101

truTV and X101 both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of X101's written reviews are positive against 15% of truTV's. truTV's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 7) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

X101 holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: truTV has 14K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 15% of truTV's written reviews are positive against 60% of X101's.

truTV ships an update every 3 months, X101 every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
