# truTV vs Tablo

The clearest difference is rating: truTV at 4.5 against Tablo's 1.9. truTV also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 57) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Tablo's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

truTV holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: truTV has 14K ratings behind it against 57, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of truTV's written reviews are positive against 20% of Tablo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

truTV ships an update every 3 months, Tablo every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
