# Text vs Split Flap

The clearest difference is update cadence: Split Flap at every 2 months against Text's every 11 months. Text's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Split Flap sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text ships an update every 11 months, Split Flap every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
