# Group SMS+ vs Group Text Free

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Group SMS+ at 65% against Group Text Free's 7%. Group SMS+ also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (4.1K vs 50). Group Text Free's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Group SMS+ sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Group Text Free sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Group SMS+ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Group SMS+ has 4.1K ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of Group SMS+'s written reviews are positive against 7% of Group Text Free's.

Group SMS+ ships an update fortnightly, Group Text Free every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
