# macprime vs Apfelpage

The clearest difference is rating: macprime at 5.0 against Apfelpage's 4.5. macprime also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). Apfelpage's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (11 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

macprime holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Apfelpage has 11 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

macprime ships an update every 7 months, Apfelpage monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
