# Solitarie vs HEX !

The clearest difference is rating: HEX ! at 4.4 against Solitarie's 2.0. HEX ! also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). Solitarie's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solitarie sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and HEX ! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HEX ! holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HEX ! has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Solitarie ships an update every 2 months, HEX ! every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
