# Compass × vs Pro Compass

The clearest difference is price: Compass × at Free against Pro Compass's $1.99. Compass × also leads on ratings volume (8.3K vs 73) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Pro Compass's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (72% vs 47%). On update cadence, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Compass × is free to download; Pro Compass costs $1.99 up front. Compass × sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Pro Compass sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Compass × holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compass × has 8.3K ratings behind it against 73, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Compass ×'s written reviews are positive against 72% of Pro Compass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Compass × ships an update every 4 months, Pro Compass every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
