# TiVo vs DotteTV

The clearest difference is ratings volume: TiVo at 3.3K against DotteTV's 9. DotteTV's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.0 for TiVo against 2.0 for DotteTV. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TiVo has 3.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TiVo ships an update every 4 months, DotteTV every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
