# hip vs Events Countdown Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: hip at 4.7 against Events Countdown Tracker's 3.8. hip also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (18K vs 6). Events Countdown Tracker's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 73%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. hip sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Events Countdown Tracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

hip holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: hip has 18K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of hip's written reviews are positive against 100% of Events Countdown Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

hip ships an update every 6 days, Events Countdown Tracker every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
